HALLOWE'EN

HALLOWE'EN  EVE

This is the first quilt I made from an internet pattern. Each block has a different orange print. Back then I had to search to find enough oranges. Now I only have to search the stash.

If you're a ghost and you know it,  just say BOO.

If you're a ghost and you know it just say BOO.

If you're a ghost and you know it and you really want to show it  ........

If you're a ghost and you know it and you really want to show it just say BOO.

So many Hallowe'en images to choose from !!

MR. OCTOBER

Mr. October

Skeleton Parade
by Jack Prelutsky
The skeletons are out tonight,
they march about the street,
With bony bodies, bony heads
and bony hands and feet.
Bony bony bony bones
with nothing in between,
Up and down and all around
they march on Halloween.

This cute pattern is one I spotted last week and just had to have for Halloween.  Might be finished by next year. Created by Carol Steely at funthreads.

A BROOMSTICK MARVEL

A Broomstick Marvel

If you are going to be a witch learning how to fly is necessary. Harry Potter learned his lesson well.

Harry Potter's First Flying Lesson

Everyone can fly......

THE WITCH STILL SHOPS

Still looking for new shoes the witch visits the millinery department.

This block is made from an image on a child's shirt. I rescue old images from becoming rags.

WITCH BOOT ???

Witch Boot ?

The fashionable witch goes boot shopping as Halloween approaches.

My first paper-piecing was the flying witch. Even then she wore fancy red  boots.

SPLENDOR IN THE LEAVES

SPLENDOR IN THE LEAVES

Fall is my favourite season!  The colours, the cool crisp air and the beauty are so refreshing after a hot summer.

Autumn Leaves
Leaves in the autumn came tumbling down,
Scarlet and yellow, russet and brown,
Leaves in the garden were swept in a heap,
Trees were undressing, ready for sleep.
~unknown~

The first block I choose called out for leafy fabric.  It was a 12 ½ Maple Leaf block from - http://www.quilterscache.com/M/MapleLeafBlock.html

Four blocks together make a leafy square.

Sashing and a leafy border stitch into a delightful table topper.

A paper- pieced Fall leaves table topper.

The maple leaf block stitched in a smaller 6 1/2
inch block still speaks of Autumn.

Leaves combined with a scarecrow become a warm welcome into my home.

Playing Hide "n" Seek in The Pumpkin Patch becomes a favorite Autumn adventure!

These two blocks come from the Glorious Autumn Block party hosted by
The Quilting Gallery

Thank you to Madam Sam at Sew We Quilt and to Cherry at Cherry Blossom's Quilting Studio  for hosting Leafs Me Happy. For a full schedule visit Cherry and click the button in her sidebar.

And a special thank you to Liz and Louise, my own personal computer tech people, who if you are seeing this post rescued me.

Now is the time to head over to visit other leafy creations or as often happens when all the leaves are raked into a pile to dive in feet first as the neighborhood kids do.

Friday 5

Thank you for visiting,

Frances
